In 2024 the Department for Health and Social Care commissioned a new piece of research from SCIE to look at the evidence of outcomes for individuals from current discharge practice from hospital. This research looked specifically at working age adults (18-65) to understand their outcomes in the context of hospital discharge and we discovered that their needs have been less well understood than their older age equivalents. This recording is a discussion to understand this research, the recommendations for practice and for policy.
